Is an evidence based therapeutic technique that focusses on the assessment of musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. It’s aim is to alleviate pain and improve joint mobility to promote healing in specific areas of the body. It can be very effective in addressing a variety of injuries, chronic pain and areas of muscle tension.
At Balance & Restore Wellness all Remedial Massage treatments begin with a physical assessment specific to the area of concern so that the therapy can be tailored to your unique requirements.
With more than 20 years experience in movement and bodywork therapies Liane is certified to include techniques such as myofascial release, trigger point and deep tissue therapies as well as assisted and resistant stretching into her treatments. She is also qualified to prescribe corrective exercises as homework programs to her clients to assist in their recovery.

Swedish / Relaxation Massage
Swedish Massage is a popular therapeutic technique that promotes relaxation and overall well-being. It involves long, flowing strokes, gentle kneading and light circular movements on the superficial (surface) layers of the muscles and connective tissues.
This style of massage not only helps to relieve tension, but improves circulation which enhances the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the tissues. However, the primary benefits of Swedish Massage is how it’s soothing strokes help to reduce stress and anxiety and trigger the release of endorphins, the body’s natural feel good hormones alleviating muscle stiffness offering a sense of calm and relaxation making it an excellent choice for those with chronic pain or tension.
Regular Swedish Massage sessions can have the added benefit of improving flexibility, posture and the body’s automatic coping with stress mechanisms. In essence it offers an holistic approach to restoring your overall sense balance and wellness.
Pregnancy Massage
Research shows that antenatal massage can help to reduce stress, relieve muscle aches, improve blood flow, alleviate fluid build-up and enhance sleep patterns for the expectant Mum.
As a qualified Remedial Massage Therapist Liane is trained in Swedish (relaxation) Massage and how to safely adapt these gentle techniques to offer and effective and rejuvenating pregnancy massage.
With safety always the priority, great care is taken to place the expectant mother in safe and comfortable positions during the massage where the spine is supported and no undue pressure is placed on the Inferior Vina Cava or pressure points relating to the pelvis.
Monthly antenatal massages delivered by a certified therapist can be the prefect pick me up for expectant Mums from weeks 13 – 27 stepping up to twice monthly appointments through to about 36 weeks. The final weeks of pregnancy can be exhausting and hard on the body and many women find weekly massages to be very supportive at this stage of the pregnancy.
